Annual General Meeting Review and Other Updates

Thanks to all who attended the AGM on the 17th of January.  We had over 30 people there.

1.  Election Results for 2010 LC

Thanks to all who stood for election, we need people willing to step up and it's good to see we have plenty.  Remember, it isn't only the LC that has responsibility for the team's success!  I would also like to once again express me appreciation to the 2009 LC and appointees (Mark K and Darrin for OC, Chip for Technology, and especially Jim for Engineering) for their solid work.

2.  Official Start of 2010 Season

Saturday, February 6th will be the first offical practice of 2010.  Weekday practice announcement will follow after the poll (team discussion action item) to determine the team's preference for what day of the week to hold it...Polls will be held on the team's web site at http://www.americandragons.sg.  Between now and February 6th, we will continue to have "off season" practices at the normal time - 3:30 p.m. on Saturdays. You know the place, get yourself prepped for the race!

3.  Team Dues

Team dues will remain S$200 per calendar year.  As in the 2009 season, we will give people a 50% discount if they join in the 4th quarter.  You can hand your hard-earned cash to the team's new treasurer, Andrea or if you prefer to pay online you can go to: http://www.aasingapore.com/en/catalogs/search.asp?entityid= 1&cat=Services&subcat=Other

4.  Recruiting

With the arrival of our 3rd boat, we have the seats. Let's start filling them!  Bring out your friends, colleagues, random Facebook friends, etc.  Obviously, if they are fit, and into outdoor sports that is ideal.  A more detailed recruiting plan will be announced based on the discussions held at the AGM.

I am excited about 2010.  We've got an excellent LC including the best coach we could hope for, a solid team and good base of success to build on.
